Piano People In The Park Provided 8 Hours of Groove and Good Vibes In London’s Southwark!

Piano People In The Park vowed to provide 8 hours of groove and they certainly delivered with that sentiment for their annual festival last month in South East London’s Southwark Park - which has very quickly become the new home of the capital's hottest events. Consisting of Amapiano, Gqom, 3 Step and Afro Tech it was a solid day of movement and all round good vibes.

To kick things off, the moment you stepped into Southwark Park you could already see how the festival had elevated and upgraded from the year before with more bars and a newly improved second stage titled the Groove Station, where DJ’s like 2wobunnies and Charisse C shelled down the stage, at moments you could almost feel torn between which stage to stay as the DJ’s did not disappoint with their selections.

The mainstage saw the return of Kelvin Momo, who shut down the Piano People stage in 2024 and as the night came to a close it was the moment everyone had been waiting for,the highly anticipated set of Kabza De Small also known as The King of Amapiano who played his own hits like ‘Asibe Happy’, ‘Abalele’, his own remix of Black Coffee’s Superman and so much more, the crowd was filled with joy until the very end, the chant ‘Can you feel it, yeah boy’ lives rent free in my mind.

It is so beautiful to see a festival dedicated to Amapiano music being celebrated by people from all over the world. Piano People has very quickly become a household name, providing sounds at this year’s Nottinghill Carnival, Afronation, Fabric and more. It would be very interesting to see how the festival can top the last few years, maybe it’s time for some artists to step on the stage to take things to the next level.

Perfect day for all, can’t wait until the next I hear ‘DJ we want to party’!
