Nobu Hotel Madrid Brings Japanese Precision to the Heart of Madrid

Set to open in September 2026, Nobu Hotel Madrid introduces a new destination for dining, design and nightlife in the city’s Las Cortes district. Positioned between Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta del Sol, the 50-room hotel brings together the worlds of Nobu Hospitality under one address, combining a three-level restaurant and bar, a rooftop overlooking Madrid, a wellness centre, indoor swimming pool and gym. Its arrival adds another layer to the capital’s growing reputation as a European centre for culture, food and contemporary hospitality.

A Master stroke is Madrid’s first Nobu Restaurant, bringing Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s celebrated cuisine to the Spanish capital. Japanese technique meets South American influence across a menu of sushi, sashimi and Nobu signatures including Black Cod Miso and Yellowtail Jalapeño. GRONDA has shaped the restaurant’s interiors around warmth and intimacy, using bronze-toned ceilings, dark stone, timber panelling and earthy upholstery. Floor-to-ceiling windows open the dining room towards Madrid, while an open kitchen places the movement of the chefs within the room itself.

Open every evening from 7pm until 1am, the restaurant is designed around the social energy of Madrid after dark. The three-level layout gives the space a sense of progression, moving between dining, drinks and late-night conversation. GRONDA has also overseen the lobby and other shared areas, while Tomás Alía of Studio Caramba has designed the guestrooms and additional public spaces, giving the hotel two distinct creative perspectives across its interiors.

On the seventh floor, The Rooftop looks across the Madrid skyline and is positioned as a destination for the city’s golden hours. Open from 5pm until midnight throughout the week, the space will move into a livelier register from Wednesday to Saturday, when live DJs soundtrack the evenings. The drinks list draws from Mediterranean summers with spritzes, light highballs and seasonal aperitivo serves, while the food menu brings together dishes designed for sharing, including Sea Bass and Coconut Ceviche, Quisquilla Shrimp with Shiso Salsa, Tortilla with Dry Miso and a Salmon Bikini with Caviar.

The Lobby Lounge offers a slower introduction to the hotel. Open daily from 8am to 11pm, it operates as a meeting place for hotel guests and the wider Madrid community, changing pace throughout the day. Its speciality coffee programme has been developed with local roasters, with three bean varieties selected for different purposes. Coffee is joined by kombucha, wines by the glass and cocktails, alongside light lunches and a Nobu interpretation of the classic club sandwich.

Wellness also forms part of the hotel’s offering, with an indoor swimming pool, gym and dedicated wellness centre adding space for recovery between the city’s faster moments. This balance between movement and pause runs through the wider concept, with each area designed around a different part of the day. Morning coffee, afternoon drinks, sunset sessions, dinner and late-night gatherings all occupy their own place within the hotel’s rhythm.

Nobu Hotel Madrid arrives at a moment when the Spanish capital continues to draw a new generation towards its restaurants, galleries, hotels and nightlife. Its first Nobu restaurant in the city, seventh-floor rooftop and DJ-led evenings give the property a strong social identity, while the design brings together Japanese references, Mediterranean influences and Madrid’s architectural character. By September, a new address will enter the city’s cultural circuit, adding another place to eat, listen, meet and watch Madrid move beneath the evening sky.
