Nia Smith asks her partner to let their walls down on her newest single, 'Tough' featuring Grammy-nominated artist Destin Conrad.

Offering a shoulder during tough times, Ivor Novello & MOBO-nominated British Musician aims to soothe and take away, whilst acknowledging the ailment that people simply go through something sometimes on her latest offering ‘Tough’.

You are not lesser for feeling is the overall message for men, as well as the fact that it okay to hurt. And rather than minimise or fix the problem, she celebrates the toughness and strength of that person for voicing the pain, but at the same time reassures them that she is here.

Soulful, Nia’s rich voice cuts through the current of the gentle piano instrumental, backed by a drum and synths. A force on its own. The track features Destin Conrad, lending his airy vocals, to lament the business of life, reaffirming that he’s trying to stay present.

“I wrote a song about men not needing to be so tough and that they can show a lil soft side too but also a song to remind myself that I don't need to be so tough and that its acc okay to share the love you have to give the world needs more love not more stone cold humans”, Nia said, sharing her thoughts on ‘Tough’.

This track follows up on Nia’s other release of 2026, ‘Limit’, a track which sees the Brixton singer flexing her agency and inner strength.
