Love Hurts the Frolov Spring/Summer Collection Appears As Rhapsody

A peony, a vase...a crustacean. For spring 2023, Ivan Frolov presents a collection that bleeds in pink. Aptly titled Love Hurts, the offering explores a collage of emotion taking form in a variety of silhouettes that range from voluminous to form fitting. With delicacy and a porcelain exactitude, corsets emerge in blue while panties are styled with a loosely knotted bow. A pink crochet. Tulle or organza?

A lightbulb that orbits in the faintest shade of seacrust catches rays and melts vociferously into strands of the sheerest chewing gum. A little beige dress appears snug fitting and with a glittering tornado that erupts into an enrapturing cloak of chalk smeared blue. Swarovski provided the crystals that were used to embellish some of the collections most characteristic pieces and within a flock of rare birds...an ibis grows gills and glitters underwater on its way to school. Displaying an aquatically themed color palette...the garments expose a hybridization between water and sky, a conversation for the elements. Aesthetically, Frolov seems to present every look as a rare Kazanian antique each with its own nightingale song. A jalapeño in blue.
