Kojo Funds Announces New EP HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN and Returns With New Single “How Many”

Kojo Funds has announced his forthcoming EP HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN, marking a major return for one of the UK’s most influential Afroswing pioneers. Set for release on 21 August 2026, the project arrives alongside the release of his new single “How Many”.

The project introduces a new chapter in Funds’ evolving sound as one of the defining voices and influence on the UK’s Afroswing movement that has stretched far beyond its early underground roots into a global force over the past decade, while building a substantial international audience along the way.

The East London artist has spent this time shaping British Afroswing, blending Afrobeats, dancehall, R&B and UK rap into a sound that has influenced a generation of new artists. With HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN, Kojo continues to build on the foundations he helped create while exploring deeper influences from his Ghanaian and Dominican heritage.

Produced by Grammy-winning Ghanaian producer Killbeatz, “How Many” sees Funds embrace a brighter Afrobeat and dancehall direction, pairing smooth melodies with the rhythmic energy that has become central to his signature sound. The track follows previous single “Ready”, which reignited excitement around his return and received support from Radio 1Xtra, KISS XTRA and Capital XTRA.

The announcement arrives as Kojo Funds celebrates a decade in music, reflecting on a career that has seen platinum success, MOBO Award nominations, hundreds of millions of streams and collaborations with artists including RAYE, Mabel, Giggs and Bugzy Malone.

First breaking through from East London with a multi-genre blending sound that moved fluidly between grime, dancehall and R&B, Kojo quickly established himself as a defining figure in the genre. Tracks including “Fine Wine”, “Dun Talkin’” featuring Abra Cadabra and “Warning” helped take him from local buzz to international recognition.

His influence has continued to shape the sound of contemporary British music, helping bridge the gap between Afrobeats, Caribbean influences and UK rap culture.

The title HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN plays on the opening lyric of “Dun Talkin’”, the 2016 track that helped establish Kojo Funds as one of the characterising voices of the Afroswing movement. Nearly a decade on, the title feels fitting for an artist returning to the scene he helped reshape, while introducing a new chapter in his sound.

This new EP represents a new era for Funds, one centred around growth, gratitude and continuing to push Afroswing beyond its original boundaries.
