Jorja Smith Releases Her Latest Single ‘The Way I Love You’

The Way I Love You’ is a British musician Jorja Smith’s latest single, and an experimental sound. Dropped in time for the summer festivals that have started to slowly creep up on us, and the day raves that have popped out, whilst simultaneously signalling a thrilling bass-heavy and house era that the Midlands’ native has landed in.

Although we have heard Jorja on AJ Tracey’s relaxed, smooth and light-hearted ‘Crush’ and also ‘Ladbroke Grove’ two tracks that are heavily UK Garage inspired, she carries an intensity on ‘The Way I Love You’ as she claims, “I don’t wanna leave before I tell you I’m the only one that loves you.” Her voice expresses a deep rawness as she blurs the lines between love and obsession.

Dynamic violin notes dance between the pockets of space left behind from the looming bassline, the sceptic percussion elements and break beats, making you feel as if you need to bop to the addictive beat.

“The Way I Love You is just so much fun. It takes me back in time - there’s something nostalgic about it but now at the same time. I had the pleasure of working with Maverick Sabre, Ed Thomas and Shayk on this one. Every time I play it with my girls, I get so hyped - it’s a proper head-skanker,” Jorja says.

The accompanying video, directed by KC Locke, encapsulates the energy and nostalgia of raving culture through vibrant colour and sensual scenes, paying homage to the Niche Night Club in Sheffield.

Jorja is also set to start a 7-date UK tour that includes Wolverhampton, Dublin and performances at Manchester’s O2 Apollo for two nights, as well as three nights at London’s Eventim Apollo.
