Jenevieve Releases New Single 'Waiting Room' With Jordan Ward

Comparing her impatience and uncertainty to like waiting in a waiting room,  Los Angeles-based artist Jenevieve warns that she won’t be around forever on her return with her latest offering, “Waiting Room”, featuring Jordan Ward.

The track is summer-coded. With undertones of want, yearning and unrequited attention. Intimacy and self-reflection are explored on ‘Waiting Room’, like a pendulum swing, South Florida goes from hopeful to exasperated.

Light and nimble as a vocalist, Jenevieve’s sound is a distinct pop-ish R&B, which is playful and cute. The production underneath is heavy with a loaded bass that crowds the space, but complements Jenevieve’s brightness, as she delivers lines such as, “If you don’t wanna know, I’m hard to find, what you want with me? Ain’t got the time”.

Whilst Jordan is mellow and warm. He sings over a deep bass line drifting over it with a lax tone, providing charisma and a second perspective.

The accompanying visual, directed by Yanchi, draws inspiration from the reverse-shot style of The Pharcyde’s 'Drop’ music video. It is also inspired by similar themes of Jordan Ward’s recent album BACKWARDS.

Jenevieve has now completed her sold-out European leg of The CRYSALIS Tour – Worldwide, where she performed in Paris, London, and Amsterdam. The tour restarts next month for Asia, with shows in Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, and Manila.
