James Blake releases 'Covers EP'

James Blake has blessed the world with another project, the highly anticipated 'Covers EP' which follows the release of 'Before'.

During lockdown, James Blake spent much of his time doing covers of songs that fans requested for on his social media platforms. The record was not planned, but instead materialised through the ask of his fans, “doing these covers and live performances has kept me going this year…” said Blake as he announced the EP on social media. “I chose to record a few in the studio and it turned into this EP.”

The EP is comprised of a collection of Blake's favourite covers. iThis includes the eagerly awaited rendition of Billie Eilish's 'when the party's over' and the hugely popular cover of Frank Oceans 'Godspeed' which generated over 5 million views on TikTok with Hypebeast noting, “He exudes his ghostly vocals throughout, layering his soul-inflecting delivery over the skeletal piano chords.” .
