Finesse Brings The Heat With New Single ‘Berryside’

In the spirit of his name, the Hackney-born rapper brilliantly proved to us how he can bring finesse to a single, as he did on ‘Berryside’. The full-blooded Nigerian rapper gained his musical talents from his parents, with his mother being in the church choir, and his father on drums at the same church. The musical ability that he inherits allows him to perfectly depict the emotions that he has felt during his life. It is very easy to say that Finesse has a fresh and unique sound, accompanied by hard-hitting and gritty lyrics, a factor that will make his music resonate with many.

On October 22nd 2021, Finesse, independently under NBF/NBF World, released 10-track Freshman EP The Motive, displaying themes of aggression, love and of course, finesse. The versatility that he possesses is what provides him with the creativity to produce catchy hooks and melodies. Finesse is inspired by musical icons such as Lauryn Hill and Kanye West, with the latter being a good example of the roots of his influences. ‘The Motive’, which is the final track of the EP, tells a beautiful story on his determination to make it in life, plastered with a snare-filled instrumental, along with a more composed and softer tone than the other songs that are on the project.

The Lead single 'Berryside' is accompanied by a monocrome visual that tells Finesse's story and pays homage to the city of London, Hackney spesifically. Finesse raps about conversations with his uncle that open his eyes to the beginings of gentrification and his memories of taking great leaps in his life's journey and what is still in store for him.
