Eudon Choi Takes Us Back Down to Earth With His New SS22 Resort Collection - Eterno Silueta

This summer, introducing the collection Eterno Silueta created by Fashion Designer Eudon Choi as we give a warm buzzing salute to his Resort SS 2022 Collection dedicated to celebrating the difference in communities, people and beauty of nature. Choi takes us right back down to earth with this selection of aspiring pieces.

Bringing this collection to light, he focuses on Cuban performance artist, sculptor, and painter Ana Mendieta’s performances surrounding “Earth-Body” for inspiration. With a dose of strength and strong bond exploring female form and nature, Choi was able to keep his influence of nature at the forefront of his collection. From what Choi had learnt from Mendieta’s work as a performance artist, he transferred his ideas to his creations by casting back on the fashion industry’s influence in the natural world.

Touching upon Mendieta’s Cuban heritage and her artistic talents, Choi used natural and durable fabric choices to build and create the communication between the female body and the scenic surroundings we liked to call nature. The collection represents a crucial time to express unity and the excitement to return to some form of normality we once experience and will again soon.

Since the gruelling climate of the pandemic has taken over our lives in the past year and a half, creating the Eterno Silueta Resort 22 Collection, he has focussed his attention on ensuring the colours and textures used in his pieces reflect the tranquillity of the natural world. He feels this has brought him peace of mind throughout these current times by tapping into earthy tones and feeling connected with nature.

Using various natural fabrics like Guipure lace materials are made from silk, viscose, rayon and cotton. Earthy shades made an impression bringing the collection to reality in subtle hues of neutral beiges, muted khakis, sunshine yellow, and slate shades. All pieces presented in the collection are simple silhouette separates that can match with layers and up-to-date wardrobe staples.

Adding a vibrant and zestful element to the collection, Choi incorporated displays of Latin American florals portrayed in hibiscus pink and Cuban buttercup flowers. His selection consists of ruffled dresses, ruching signature details showed an appearance, tops and skirts with fringe detailing. The collection provides a burst of energy and passion that embodies the vibrant nightlife of Cuba. Demonstrating stunning classic trench coats and tailoring that brings out the brand’s signature style.

For this collection, the main goal for the company is to make a change in minimizing the social and environmental collisions of the fashion industry. Choi aims to ensure his products have a long-lasting life span by paying close attention and being mindful with fabrics used at present for the future. With that in mind, Eudon Choi has minimized his usage of synthetic fibres and natural fibres from organic wool, ethically sourced cashmere to Tencel and cupro.

For the future, the brand is choosing to focus more on the goals at hand and make a difference in the environmental footprint surrounding the collections each year. Going the extra mile, creating strategies and plans of action to keeping the looks innovative, interesting is always switched on within Choi’s creations, but what is more important is creating everlasting classic pieces that are kind in fashion industry, to the natural world and our environment.
