Destroy Lonely Returns with Broken Hearts 3, A Defining Statement in His Rise

Today, acclaimed rapper and avant-garde tastemaker Destroy Lonely unveils his highly anticipated project, <3³ (Broken Hearts 3), the third chapter in his influential Broken Hearts series. First teased through cryptic billboards scattered across New York City last week, the release solidifies Lonely’s vision of creating a world entirely his own. The project builds on the foundation of 2020’s Broken Hearts while evolving his signature sound into bolder, sharper territory.

Across 18 tracks, Lonely blends nostalgia with reinvention. He reconnects with the producers who defined his early work, Clayco, Cxdy, Cade, and Bugz Ronin, while experimenting with new layers of energy and intensity. Standout records like the adrenaline-fuelled single “Jumanji,” already approaching one million views, and “screwed up,” the project’s emotional centrepiece, reflect this duality. Meanwhile, “open it up” featuring labelmate Ken Carson continues to highlight Opium’s collaborative strength, showcasing Lonely’s ability to both lead and unify within his creative circle.

In his recent New Wave magazine cover story, Lonely reflected on the Broken Hearts series as a mirror of his journey. For Lonely, the return to his core team of producers marks a homecoming, while the ambition behind Broken Hearts 3 signals a leap forward. “I’ve always wanted to create music that feels like its own universe. This project is me getting closer to that reality,” he added.
