DAMEDAME* Celebrate 'Freedom' On Electrifying Single Featuring Jorja Smith

Birmingham-based duo DAMEDAME* release the genre-fluid, addictive record ‘FREEDOM’ featuring long-time friend and collaborator Jorja Smith.

‘Freedom’ is something to be enjoyed, treasured, and most importantly, it can be found in yourself, but also in the people that you surround yourself with. It’s love, and how you interact with the world.

Working together for the past five years, DAMEDAME* co-wrote and produced 11 of the 14 tracks off of Jorja Smith’s sophomore album Falling or Flying.

The duo, made up of singer Barbara and Shiloh, demonstrates forward-thinking production on their latest offering as a firm bassline is allowed to tick over off-beat as a dynamic string arrangement and violins provide an emotional resonance to the core of the track.

It’s inviting, sweeping you up, and carries you over and encourages you to move, to dance, to feel as Barbara’s soulful voice croons, and murmurs with a laid-back but sensuous approach, enjoying being present to the events unfolding.

Space is created to allow the instrumentation to breathe, as Jorja’s heavenly tone adds depth to the track in the second verse, enriching it whilst calling out an unnamed person to be brave in the face of challenges. She sings, “I know that your just scared, that you don’t know what it’s worth, what you would find if you made it there, if you make it here.”

This release follows the single ‘PROMISE’ and hints that DAMEDAME* are team that needs watching closely.
