Luxury in gastronomy is rarely defined by excess. It is found in provenance, precision and the knowledge of where something comes from. This November, COMO The Halkin brings that philosophy to Belgravia with an exclusive wine led dinner dedicated to Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, transporting the spirit of COMO Le Montrachet to London for one evening. Set within one of the capital’s most discreet addresses, the experience offers an intimate encounter with one of France’s most revered culinary and wine regions.

Taking place on 3 November, the evening will be hosted by acclaimed wine expert Tom Harrow of Honest Grapes, presenting a carefully considered collection of eight wines across seven prestigious labels. Selected for their craftsmanship, heritage and connection to Burgundy’s celebrated growers, the wines offer guests an opportunity to look beyond the prestige of the bottle and into the culture that surrounds it. In Burgundy, luxury is inseparable from place, with vineyard, vintage and producer carrying as much significance as the wine itself.

The four course menu draws directly from the culinary identity of COMO Le Montrachet, creating a dialogue between the kitchen and the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune. Hand dived scallop meets Domaine de Montille’s 2021 Beaune Premier Cru “Les Aigrots” Blanc, while butter poached Dover sole is paired with Domaine de la Pousse d’Or’s Puligny Montrachet Premier Cru “Le Cailleret” 2019, served from Magnum. Pigeon and foie gras Wellington completes the progression alongside Domaine de Montille’s Volnay Premier Cru “Les Taillepieds” 2017.

The experience is also deeply founded in the heritage of COMO Le Montrachet, COMO’s first property in France. Set within a restored 19th century inn in Puligny Montrachet, just moments from the legendary Le Montrachet Grand Cru vineyard, the hotel exists at the heart of Burgundy’s wine culture. Its cellar and relationships with local producers reflect an approach to hospitality where authenticity and access become part of the luxury, offering guests an understanding of the region that extends far beyond the dining table.

The timing of the dinner makes it particularly significant. Held ahead of Les Trois Glorieuses and the 166th Hospices de Beaune wine auction, it arrives during one of Burgundy’s most important periods of the year. Several of the featured wines come from growers responsible for the élevage of Honest Grapes’ own Hospices de Beaune barrels, creating a rare connection between London diners and the producers shaping Burgundy’s contemporary legacy. It is an evening built around access, expertise and the stories hidden within each vintage.

Ultimately, this is luxury expressed through creativity and restraint. Every wine, ingredient and pairing has been selected with intention, allowing the character of Burgundy to remain at the centre of the experience. For one night, COMO The Halkin becomes a gateway to the Côte de Beaune, bringing together the artistry of French gastronomy, the intimacy of fine wine and the quiet sophistication of COMO hospitality. In a city accustomed to spectacle, the evening offers something more considered: the privilege of experiencing craftsmanship at its source.
