BackRoad Gee brings Live In The Flesh to life with intimate BAPE London performance

To celebrate the release of his latest project, Live In The Flesh, BackRoad Gee invited guests to an intimate performance at BAPE's London store. The stripped-back setting offered something different from his usual high-octane festival and headline appearances, creating a space where the music and the community surrounding it took centre stage.

The evening combined a short Q&A with performances of fan favourites and tracks from Live In The Flesh. There was a real sense of familiarity in the room, with the crowd rapping along word for word and feeding off BackRoad Gee's energy throughout.

Released on 17 July, Live In The Flesh marks the rapper's return with an eight-track project that blends his signature rap style with Afro-swing influences. While the release is concise, it still offers plenty of moments that showcase his versatility.

One standout is 'Spin Your Block', featuring Pa Salieu. The track's smooth production and warm instrumentation immediately stand out, creating the perfect backdrop for both artists. BackRoad Gee's cadence is as captivating as ever, switching effortlessly between sharp, commanding verses and more melodic pockets, while Pa Salieu's feature adds another layer of energy without overshadowing the track.

Live In The Flesh feels like a confident release from BackRoad Gee. Rather than straying too far from the sound that established him, the project builds on his strengths while introducing new influences that give this chapter its own identity.
