Deciding to allow vulnerability and honesty to lead the way, we are guided through the painful epiphany that by choosing to love someone, you are in fact, hurting yourself.

Caught in a relationship that does not serve you, what do you do when you realise that you’re mourning yourself as you lean into a place that is not as welcoming as you first thought?

Or when taking a closer look, the cracks begin to show, when things begin to break, and sometimes letting things go is the only way to save yourself from disaster.

This is where we meet Algerian-Moroccan singer SABRI, who lets the pain pierce us on ‘Sold Myself For Love’, a song that has been given new life in an A COLORS SHOW performance.

The production, created by BLK ODYSSY, Mamii & Camper, consists solely of an acoustic guitar, which strums a gentle, almost hesitant chord pattern progression, which you need to strain your ear to listen to, as, we are enthralled by the haunting tone of SABRI.

Making her debut appearance on the iconic COLORS platform, live rendering enhances the aches and pains, the groans and tiredness felt by SABRI.

She offers her own perspective on her tumultuous relationship, wearing her heart on her sleeve. She is honest about her confusion, but what is learnt is her pain.

There is an awareness of what she is giving up to stay in the relationship, on how, she shrank herself to fit around a love interest rather than being given room to grow.

How can I fuck it up all for love?” she howls. “I sold myself for love every time you called, I realize my fault/ Gonna change, you’ll see.

Speaking on ‘Sold Myself For Love’ and her debut COLORS performance, SABRI shares: “Sold Myself For Love came from a place of deep reflection, realizing how I gave myself away just to hold onto love. It’s about facing that truth and learning to reclaim your power after losing yourself in someone else.

“There’s a softness in the song, but also strength. The moment you stop choosing pain and start choosing freedom. For me, it captures the beauty and the ache of letting go. To be able to showcase this first on COLORS feels incredibly special.

“Their platform really embodies the rawness and honesty that this song was born from. It’s the perfect space to introduce this new chapter of my music, where vulnerability leads the way.

Still relatively early in her career SABRI has experimented with pop, house, afrobeats and R&B and has worked with the likes of Full Crate, Yung Bleu on ‘Reading The Room’ and Olamide on ‘Knockout’.
