A$AP Rocky’s Maximalist Ray-Ban's Vision Arrives

When A$AP Rocky stormed the AWGE runway wearing the first frame from his Ray-Ban collaboration, the message was clear: this isn’t eyewear, it’s armour for the face.

As Ray-Ban’s first Creative Director, appointed February 2025, Rocky leads with intent. The Next Generation Collection introduces three disruptive styles that obliterate the line between accessory and art object, fusing technical bravado with cultural heat.

Ultra Wrap 001 is the collection’s flagship – a liquid-metal wraparound engineered for those who treat pavements like runways. Its exaggerated orbital curves are so aggressive they reshape the wearer’s profile, while precision tension hinges and deep lens curvature deliver performance-grade coverage.

For those who prefer a louder confrontation, Ultra Wrap 002 takes on the form of a full-face visor. A panoramic visor-style frame stretching 180 degrees, with temples thick enough to qualify as structural supports. A pronounced brow bar slices across the top, casting a striking horizontal line.

Rounding out the trio is Ultra Wrap 003, bringing a streamlined take on the wraparound frame, with floating lens elements and cantilevered temples, it pares back the drama without sacrificing edge. Designed for everyday wear but still visually striking, it nods to performance eyewear while staying rooted in street style.

Ray-Ban under Rocky’s creative direction is future-forward and maximalist. By merging Ray-Ban’s 88 years of optical mastery with Rocky’s boundary-pushing aesthetic, the collection redefines what ‘luxury streetwear’ means and sets the stage for Rocky’s long-term creative vision.

Available now in strictly limited quantities, these frames come with an unspoken warning: once worn, ordinary eyewear will forever feel inadequate. Consider this your official notice that the future of vision has arrived, and it’s looking right through you.
