West London's Finest Digga D and AJ Tracey Revive Drill on New Single 'Bringing It Back'

The nostalgic track sees two of West London’s best fuse their flows back-to-back over a trenchant drill beat produced by The Elements and AoD. There is no holding back with these two stars, and it certainly shines through on this latest number.

The pair, both hailing from Ladbroke Grove, fulfil an eagerly-awaited collaboration aptly titled ‘Bringing It Back’. The track pays homage to Digga’s 2017 freestyle ‘Next Up?’ alongside his original drill crew 1011, and AJ’s 2016 MicCheck freestyle ‘Packages’ (viewed over 15 million times on YouTube).

The accompanying visuals, directed by Digga himself and KC Locke, sees the two artists dwell on those very defining moments in their careers. Digga even returns to the exact same spot and dons a similar outfit to what he wore in ‘Next Up?’ – had the infamous track not been removed from YouTube at the request of the Met police it is predicted by some that it may have reached 50 million views by now.

The last few years for Digga have been monumental – entertaining millions of views on YouTube and more than 325 million streams worldwide. This new track comes following last years hit singles ‘Woi’ and ‘Chingy (It’s Whatever)’; with Digga’s infectious energy inciting viral dances on TikTok. In 2020 he was nominated for a MOBO Award, as well as Best Rap Track at DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards. The BBC Three documentary Defending Digga D, detailed the many obstacles he has encountered since the start of his career.

Despite the unprecedented challenges, it seems that the 20-year-old driller is set for a colossal year ahead. With his constant innovation and adaptiveness, he is exactly what is needed in today’s rapidly changing music industry.

AJ Tracey delivers his usual unrelenting bars and a steadfast flow to match. The 2019 knockout and BRIT nominated single ‘Ladbroke Grove’, now a certified double-platinum is just one example of AJ’s notoriety. The new collaboration is the latest music to be heard from AJ since his Secure The Bag! 2 EP which dropped in November last year.
