Village Underground Opens Rooftop To Public For 20th Anniversary

Known for it's iconic tube carriages on the roof just a stones throw away from Shoreditch Highstreet Station, East London nightclub and bar has opened up a brand new rooftop for the summer. And you can sit inside the tube carriages too!

Originally known for music, Village Underground has played a crucial part in Hackney's nightlife and as the venue approaches it's 20th year, the rooftop supports the long-term future of the venue as well as it's sister venue EartH as a hotspot as an independent space for music, art and culture.

Auro Foxcroft, Founder / CEO of Village Underground says, “For nearly 20 years, we’ve had this suntrap spot on the Shoreditch skyline to ourselves, so it’s exciting to finally be able to share it with our audiences and the local community. The train carriages have been part of how we’ve used the space day to day - from working to interviewing artists - and this feels like the natural next step, opening them up and making them part of the space for everyone to enjoy.”

The new space includes Bad Boy Pizza Society bringing New York-style pizzas for us to enjoy alongside a selection of curated cocktails from their central bar.

Village Underground rooftop is open now for bookings on their website.
