Vietnamese-German Producer qu Works With Serious Klein To Create ‘stronger'

Vietnamese-German producer qu works together with Serious Klein to create ‘stronger’, a track all about preserving when times get hard.

Laid back, and warm the beat is kept in time with a low-baseline  which lays the foundations of the instrumentation. Electronic elements provide a Californian west coast vibe that allows The German rapper Serious Klein to style on it with a smooth melodic tone.

“'stronger' was one of the last tracks to make it onto the album. I created the beat in summer 2022 and refined it during the album production phase. I first met Serious Klein in 2018 at Redbull Studios in Berlin. He frequently collaborated with Rascal, a fellow producer and friend, and has always been an inspiration to me”, qu says.

Initially, I was a huge fan of his work from a distance, but over the years, we met several times and exchanged beats and ideas. I even helped produce his comeback single 'White Knight (feat. Josh Kye)' after a two-year hiatus. Eventually, I asked him to be part of my project, and it was a beautiful moment to realize I had progressed from a fan to a collaborator.”

The accompanying video directed by Highsnobiety in-house videographer Gary Emekwa, depicts Serious Klein in the middle of a never ending car journey as he drives to an unknown destination to symbalse the need for growth and the exploration of escapism. Reflecting the message in the song perfectly it also express a need to focus on oneself.

Explaining the concept futher, Emekwa says “Through this narrative, I aim to visually depict the struggle and hopeful change that can happen when you break free from an environment that tries to drag you down."

This track will be off of qu’s forthcoming debut album where did the sun go, consisting of 15 tracks it sees qu work with artists from London, Europe and America in a bid to implement is natural instrumentation style.
