Timberland Launches FW25 Campaign 'Advice of an Icon' with Skepta and Spike Lee - A Commitment to the Future

There are few examples of footwear as iconic as Timberland’s Original Yellow Boot - a shoe-shaped symbol of our past, present, and future. Timberland’s latest global campaign, ‘Advice of an Icon’ pays tribute to its legacy of the brand ahead of Fashion Week, spotlighting three pivotal stars who each embody the brand’s sense of authenticity and heritage - Skepta, Spike Lee, and Kiko Mizuhara.

These three contrasting creatives recognised globally for their bold originality, are captured by director and photographer Gabriel Moses. Demonstrating the very reason for his prestige, Moses’ final shots bring to life the depth, narrative, and emotional ties between the subjects, the boot, and everything Timberland stands for.

Set against a backdrop of raw brushwork and expressive strokes, cinema pioneer Spike Lee stands firmly in the shoe, with an aura identical to that which defines his award-winning work, unapologetic and culture-focused. In contrast with the shadowy scene, the Original Yellow Boot poses as a standout icon in its own right. Skepta, long regarded as a figure of art and self-expression since taking grime to the global stage, wears the style staple with a similar conviction. His effortlessly cool persona is as natural and bold as the boot itself.

Lastly, the genre-defying and widely proclaimed ‘it-girl’ Kiko Mizuhara wows through Gabriel Moses’ distinct lens, a vision in white before the broody background, ultimately balanced by Timberland’s creation in a fusion of strength and vulnerability. The photographer, whose recent exhibition Selah similarly blended themes of identity and cultural heritage, offers a powerful visual whose impact lingers well after first glance.

Speaking on “The Advice of an Icon”, Timberland’s Chief Marketing Officer, Maisie Willoughby shared, “At its core is the Original Yellow Boot, a global icon that has shaped style, work, and street culture for 50 years.”

The campaign highlights why the yellow-coloured creation is the most recognisable boot in the world, immortalising Timberland’s footprint in legacy while simultaneously looking to the future of fashion. The Original Yellow Boot is available to buy in men’s, women’s, and kids’ sizes at TimberlandⓇ stores and wholesale partners worldwide.
