THEO Shares New Single 'Infected'

An expressive and authentic vocalist, London-based Irish THEO delivers a smooth offering that helps to bring the sub-genre of neo-soul closer to the surface on her new single ‘Infected’.

Raw synths and rhythmic offbeat percussion drums act as the perfect foil for this Electronic R&B and neo-soul track that captures the mood of nighttime ventures and surrounds the adrenaline of your desires.

 On the edge of the borderline, we witness THEO let go, singing with breathless vocals - she is mesmerising with a silky approach as she confesses to the vices she enjoys and her unapologetic nature regarding her choices.

An exciting voice within the UK R&B and neo-soul scene, THEO speaks about the meaning behind the single, “‘Infected’ is about the idea of leaning into recklessness and that not being a bad thing.

 It followed a period of my life where I’d been really responsible and held a lot together, and I wanted to flip the idea of letting go and embracing the idea of mistakes (whether drunken or sober) not always being a bad thing.”

Building on from her debut EP ‘Everyone Starts Somewhere’  four years later she has announced that her follow-up project, which will hopefully like this single lean on more future-facing electronic elements like one of her favourite artists Kaytranada. Currently without an official release date will be produced by Grammy-winner Naughty Boy

Theo is a recipient of the PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music fund and has gained experience performing at UK festivals such as The Great Escape and All Points East, whilst also opening for the Sugababes

Second-generation Irish, she has been influenced by the soulful crooning of Irish acts like Van Morrison and The Commitments and it will be interesting to see how she pairs all of these influences together.
