The wait has finally arrived as the latest fresh-looking new offering on trainers from innovative label Maison Margiela and American sports brand Reebok has finally unveiled The Classic Leather Memory Of and Club C Memory Of trainers. Another fresh, hip-looking piece of footwear to add to your wardrobe staples this summer.
For this offering, Creative Director John Galliano shares his perspective of what is beyond the design concepts that mirror qualities in Maison Margiela’s idea for the classic The Memory Of. The method used behind the trainers calls to mind the image of deconstructed garments and accessories. The Memory Of concept depicts a vision or visual perception that commonly captures a symbolic message of Maison Margiela’s creative operation.
Joining forces with the renowned American Reebok designs, the medium used to construct the design concepts brings direct attention to evident sides of the piece. There is originality in the design concept of these trainers. It highlights the design creation and innovation from both brands’ vision and sharing the design concept to their audience.
The foundation of The Memory Of began with the classic design of the Reebok sneaker. The design concepts of both the Classic Leather Memory Of and Club C Memory Of feature the latest cross-check stripped away to expose the details of the punch-holes that once carried the stitching elements. These trainers are the perfect example of a product revealing its true colours, internally and externally.
For instance, the Classic Leather Memory Of unveils characteristics such as the felt liner detailing, which is generally out of sight. Now that these features are noticeable, like the heel caps and notches exposed as the shielding heel segment is removed from the trainers, the design leads the way in portraying a bona fide creation of the sneaker.
Adding Maison Margiela’s renowned technique Décortiqué consists of stripping away parts of the product and revealing the original shape plays a vital role in creating the Classic leather Memory Of and Club C Memory Of. Fragments of the sneaker like the mudguard placed on the upper surface of other elements to uncover the seam allowance and expose the three-dimensional structure which exemplifies the sneaker. Assembled in high-quality premium leather, the Classic Leather Memory Of trainers consists of the EVA sole that offers midsole support and a rubber outsole feature.
However, on the other hand, the Club C Memory Of model created with high-quality premium leather features like the cross-check. The heel and eyelet flap leather component whilst in production has been minimised than usual as once again the Décortiqué method used to its full advantage.
