Patina Maldives and Ritz-Carlton Maldives Unveil Their Full Programme for September Fari Islands Festival

Where Purpose Meets Possibility.

Set on the Fari Islands in the Maldives from September 19th-22nd, the Fari Islands Festival offers a refined Maldivian resort experience that embodies the essence of nature, craftsmanship, and connections. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration with the Ritz-Carlton Maldives, this unique three-day celebration will feature "Fari Voices" a group of carefully selected innovators transforming their respective industries.

Hosted by top-tier hospitality brands, this enchanting and picturesque archipelago will showcase remarkable architecture by renowned names such as Studio MK27 (by Marcio Kogan), Kengo Kuma & Associates, and Kerry Hill Architects.

Positioned between the two resorts and structured around five interconnected pillars: Culinary Artistry; Sonic Immersion; Nature Amplified; Body, Mind & Soul; and Creative Artistry, the festival embodies the founding spirit of the Fari Islands, which celebrates nature, craft, and connection. Both resorts uphold shared standards by embracing culture, ecological awareness, and emotional intelligence, elements that will be integral to the Fari Islands Festival.

Joining the line up will be marine scientist and National Geographic Explorer Gibbs Kuguru who will be collaborating with the Olive Ridley Project which is an organisation dedicated to protecting sea turtles and their habitats across the Indian Ocean through rescue initiatives, rehabilitation, research and education. Crucially, guests will have the chance to be able to support the project with donations.

Nutritionist and wellness advocate Rosemary Ferguson is set to host two exclusive wellness-themed lunches, one at Wok Society, Patina Maldives, and another at La Locanda, The Ritz-Carlton Maldives. These events focus on achieving seasonal balance for the year's final quarter. Guests attending her lunches will also enjoy wellness access at the Health Club by Rose and can savour curated juices available throughout the festival at Fari Marina Village. 

Danico Bar, a prominent cocktail venue in Paris recognised by the World’s 50 Best Bars, will bring their distinctive style to the islands’ bars. In addition to nightly showcases, guests can participate in an exclusive cocktail masterclass featuring their renowned Chicha Morada, providing an insider’s perspective on top-tier craftsmanship. 

Nicolas Travis, the founder of Allies of Skin, a brand favoured by celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Hailey Bieber, will present wellness experiences along with their Signature Transformative Facial by Leyen Tran, which integrates healing massage techniques and reiki for enduring rejuvenation. 

Singapore-based STPI Creative Workshop and Gallery will conduct a series of beginner-friendly craft sessions at both resorts, fostering moments of joyful expression through hands-on artistry that inspires new perspectives for guests to share with their communities. 

Guests can begin their mornings with a much-needed Wellness by Bamford ritual, encouraging them to arrive with presence and intention. They can enjoy fresh juices by Rosemary, or cocktail enthusiasts can indulge in world-class mixology skills, either to learn or simply enjoy! These daily rituals encourage guests to slow down, engage deeply, and take away more than just memories. They nurture a sense of purpose that reaches beyond the islands, fostering cultural understanding and inspiring actionable change in daily life. 

By the day's end, the islands will transform into vibrant and thrilling assemblies, blending sound, space, and narrative. The opening night will feature a special performance by the internationally renowned poet, author, and artist Rupi Kaur at Skyspace Amarta, an art installation created by James Turrell.

Night two will be hosted at EAU Bar The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, where DJ Kim Turnbull will be selecting sounds whilst Danico and Nutmeg & Clove will keep the drinks flowing

As the festival concludes on its third night, French multi-instrumentalist and electronic music expert FKJ (French Kiwi Juice) will deliver a live set for attendees. Combining jazz, funk, and electronic elements, it promises to create a delightful and relaxed ambiance before Rupi Kaur wraps up the festival beneath the island stars.
