London-based jewellery designer Octi Ransom presents Ammonite, a new collection exploring water, transformation and the passage of time. Founded in 2022 by Octi Ransom, Octi is a Hackney-based jewellery brand exploring the relationship between nature, material and time. Through organic textures, natural forms and precious metals, the brand creates jewellery that feels like fragments of a much larger world.

Inspired by ammonite fossils found along rivers and coastlines, the collection looks at the relationship between movement and permanence. Water erodes, reshapes and preserves, creating a natural tension between what changes and what remains.

This idea is translated through Octi’s signature language of organic forms, spirals and mathematical patterns. Precious metals take on water-worn textures and fluid finishes, while sapphires appear like droplets caught within the pieces. Interchangeable rings introduce another element of movement, allowing the jewellery to be stacked, layered and reconfigured by the wearer.

For its SS27 presentation during London Fashion Week, Octi extends this idea beyond the body, collaborating with sound and spatial designers Robin Sparkes and Bojan Kostović.

A sculptural instrument featuring Octi-made cymbals is played using dripping silver finger caps, while a live cymatics performance uses water to make sound visible. Wax captures the movement of liquid before being cast into metal, transforming something fleeting into something permanent. Drawing from the Music of the Spheres, Ammonite brings together jewellery, sound, geology and mathematics through ideas of rhythm, repetition and natural order.

A ripple becomes a form. A sound becomes structure. A moment becomes something you can hold.
