Lost Girl Unloads On New R&B Single 'Trust Issues'

Lost Girl, confesses her feelings on the intimate and emotional 'Trust Issue’, as she vents her frustrations on the emotional R&B record.

The single signal a shift from the artists’ previous garage influence which first brought her to attention and led to working with artists such as Hardy Caprio, Ivorian Doll and BackRoad Gee.

Co-produced by KXVI and Skeyez, the minimalistic trap beat is layered with low-pitched harmonies that sit under the instrumentation, providing the perfect elements to Lost Girl’s enthralling voice.

The Reading-born singer remains unapologetic on ‘Trust Issues’, whilst demonstrating honest communication as Lost Girl directly accuses the person she's casually seeing of insecurity and toxic behaviour, but as the song progresses we find out that the feelings felt by the person might be valid.

She also taps into a hidden depth and shows the desire to be transparent. She sings smoothly “I could be your number one baby but you wont be my only lady I’m a real suttin blame me.” Implying that they’re both stuck in the circle.

Casual dating always has the potential to be messy, and emotions do tend to boil over. The songstress can’t hide the heartbreak she feels as she goes through the motions, but there are also undertones of accountability.

The visuals are directed by Lost Girl herself, and creatively she plays both partners as you see shots of her attempting to her point across.
