Lil Yachty Rounds Up Rio Da Yung OG, Krispylife Kidd, RMC Mike and more on 'Royal Rumble'

The new track is the match that happens before the big event as it comes ahead of Lil Yachty’s forthcoming release – Michigan Boy Boat.

In true Royal Rumble style, where a new wrestler enters the match every 90 seconds, the Michigan rappers join Lil Yachty, jumping into the ring with their own verses back to back and delivering some hard-hitting bars. The line-up includes Krispylife Kid, RMC Mike, Babyface Ray, Rio Da Yung OG, DC2Trill, Icewear and Vezzo.

Last year saw the Michigan rappers make waves beyond the state’s borders and become 2020’s most exciting scene, with the storytelling aficionado Rio Da Yung OG who released Accidental Shit Talkin last year, 42 Dugg and ATL’s Lil Baby on We Paid, OG Detroit rapper Payroll Giovanni and Peezy’s Paid In Full, Bfb Da Packman X Sada Baby's ‘Free Joe Exotic’, Teejayx6 talking VPNs on ‘Dark Web’, and many, many more. Detroit and Flint are paving the way as a force to be reckoned with, obliging the rest of the rap world to either catch on or get left behind.

Over the last couple of decades, Michigan has been the hub for some of the most exciting underground rap posses. For instance, East Side Chedda Boyz and Doughboyz Cashout; but what makes this region stand out is the fact that they have never pandered to following trends in rap – with frantic drum patterns and hefty basslines being the foundation of the the Wolverine State's individual sound.

Although Lil Yachty is an Atlanta native through and through he has been forming alliances with Michigan’s scene since 2017, when he appeared alongside Tee Grizzly onD to the A’. Further partnerships formed when Krispylife Kid and Lil Yachty came together on ‘Krispy Boat’ and ‘Flintana’ with YN Jay, RMC Mike, and Louie Ray. Lil Yachty also joined Rio Da Yung OG, GrindHard E and others on ‘Run Down’ back in October.
