Further teasing the forthcoming release of her sixth studio album Norman Fucking Rockwell, Lana Del Rey returns with a double video for two new tracks that’ll feature on it.
The seaside spectacular video shows Del Rey in her most chill persona and staying true to her vintage-looking home style videos.
However, this isn’t the first time that she has decided to create an extended video. The track ‘Ride’ features an intro and outro lasting 10 minutes; a short cinematic piece showing a treacherous life on the road with bikers. But this new video shows us something different.
Lana explores a new side of life, something that has been developing through her previous albums and she portrays a serene, fresh perception of personal growth.
Visually, she contrasts the deep indoor colours of purple with harsh neon and an element of rock and roll that has been present in almost every visual she has created. Alongside this, she includes more delicate scenes that look beachy and washed out. She mixes surreal landscapes and comical moments that fit perfectly with her style of expression. The visuals also refer back to lyrics from ‘Video Games’ “Singing in the old bars, swinging with the old stars” and “Playing pool and wild darts” in the second half of the video, interlinking the two artworks.
Norman Fucking Rockwell is out on August 30th.
