KILIMANJARO Releases New Unmissable Single 'Moving On'.

Dropping Friday 21st of August, MOBO Award-nominated Zambian-Scottish artist KILIMANJARO's new single 'Moving On' is one to be listened to. The track is a collaboration with Iñutu and the product is a deeply personal exploration not just between colleagues, but between siblings. The expansive and experimental electronic production, layered rhythms and sharp beats are paired with emotional vocals, resonant of the balance between the pair.

'Moving On' explores themes of acceptance and healing, and reflects on the sheer value of intuition. It is evident that KILIMANJARO's intuition drove this piece, from its very creation to its final product.

From the songs very beginning, the combination of cymbals and piano are paired with spoken word which create a unique sonic experience. As soon as the vocals come in, the track changes. It feels communal,. like it is building a world within the song itself. The lyric 'we are whoever we are' repeats over the track, and that is exactly what the song creates. Blending heavy, Afro-centric percussion with something electronic and rave like is beyond atmospheric. As the song ends, you are left with this feeling of wanting more, and the loving intention behind the track really comes into its own.

It has something deeply personal to it that many of his past tracks keep more nuanced, and it only builds excitement for the rest of his highly anticipated EP 'THE ASCENSION (INKAWAMI) to drop.

The release of this single comes just before KILIMANJARO LIVE, his debut headline tour embarking in November of this year. The tour will bring his electronic sound into a live setting for the very first time, accompanied by a live band. If 'Moving On' shows us anything, it is that this new era for KILIMANJARO is stronger, more introspective and much more exploratory than his last.
