‘With you’ was first introduced in the acclaimed British musician Jorja Smith's live performances this year. Specifically, her still ongoing world tour, which kicked off at the 02 Manchester Apollo. Mid-show, Jorja would ask her fans if it was okay to share something new, and delighted, they would say yes.

And now officially out in the open, ‘With You’ is Jorja at her best and most vulnerable. Despite the 27-year-old saying it’s “a love song for the summer!” that doesn’t take away the fact that it’s a soulful rendering ballad that adopts electronic and UKG elements that marry two genres perfectly to give it a modern feel.

It is not the first time that Jorja has been inspired by Britain’s underground scene with 'The Way I Love You’ released in May, and also ‘Little Things’ off of her sophomore album Falling or Flying’, warmly received.

What can’t be disguised by the energetic high-hats and breakbeats is how the Midland’s singer expresses so much love and affection that it is overwhelming, and can only make you smile as she authentically conveys deep emotions and expression as she rolls through the layered soundscape with an effortlessness.

At its core, Jorja is a romantic, and the song is sensitive but hopeful, grateful that she has found her person as she enjoys her golden summer moment. She sings, “You tell me life is better when you’re with me/you’re right/I’ve been hurt so bad/but you’re meant to be in my life.”

The accompanying music video is directed by Ivor Lawson-Adamah and beautifully captures the emotion and tension that Jorja expresses through her tone and lyrics as a summer's motive takes place.

Jorja is currently still touring with further performances across the UK, Europe, Asia and North America still to look forward to.
