Jeshi Releases Rave-inspired Single '3210', Announces New Album

After announcing his long-awaited album Universal Credit, DIY rapper Jeshi has unveiled a brand new single, produced by Cadenza that tunes into dance, UKG and has gritty visuals filmed in a flip-book style.

As he highlights the disenfranchised and self-destructive, Jeshi takes pride in his British culture as well as taking the viewer on a tour of his hometown. As the camera follows a path of printed photos, the concept was brought to life by the acclaimed director Will Dohrn. Speaking on the video, Dohrn mentioned:

"Life as a zoopraxiscope. The zoopraxiscope was invented by Eadweard Muybridge in the late 1800’s. He realized that spinning a series of photographs or illustrations in front of the eye at a certain speed would animate the images, inventing the first ever motion picture or video as we now describe it. In the film we unravel the zoopraxiscope into a seemingly never-ending line of photographs that portray recollections from Jeshi’s past, guiding his path through familiar or significant places in his life."

Displaying his witty knack for lyricism and signature style of flow, Jeshi's '3210' comes after singles 'Another Cigarette', 'Generation', 'Hit By A Train' and the popular 'Sick'.

With debut album Universal Credit on the way featuring Obongjayar and Fredwave, Jeshi uses it to speak on his life experience and things that go wrong, no matter how big or small. Ranging from dropping a cigarette to not having a father figure, his idea is to give himself credit for going through these things in life.

"In a less monetary and literal sense, I’d like to draw attention to the word ‘credit’. The idea that we all deserve credit for getting through whatever shit we have going on in our lives. This isn’t some sob story. There are loads of people who have been and are going through the same things as me. I want this album to feel like a release of these stresses and a celebration of getting through it regardless."
