Inside Pharrell and Nigo’s Louis Vuitton Paris Takeover

Two decades of friendship translate into crocodile truckers, lobster bags, and the season's most authentic collaboration.

Under the Louvre’s glass pyramid, Pharrell Williams and Nigo staged a show that felt like watching two friends finish each other’s sentences in fabric and leather. The SS26 Louis Vuitton menswear collection opened with crocodile dyed trucker jackets in moss greens and chestnut browns, silhouettes echoing Nigo’s Human Made utilitarian leanings, rendered with the refined craftsmanship Pharrell has upheld since his earliest jewellery collaborations.

Lobster motifs appeared throughout the collection with the kind of humour that comes from genuine friendship. Sculpted lobster claw charms hung from monogram bags, moulded in glossy leather, emerged beneath tailored outerwear - a nod to the full lobster-shaped bag that debuted in January. The motif worked as an inside joke: Pharrell's recurring marine references, from G-Star denim campaigns to his personal jewellery, filtered through Nigo's playful object literalism.

Denim tailoring carried their shared streetwear origin story into the atelier with structured, patchwork jackets and hardware detailing reminiscent of both early Billionaire Boys Club and Human Made. Graphic knits featured lettering and symbols that sat comfortably between the streets of Shibuya and Parisian runways, referencing decades of brand-building without nostalgia.

The accessories ranged from miniature to oversized.Micro-Speedys in gold leather, oversized suede totes shaped like dustbags, and trunks resting on skater-esque roller wheels spoke to LV’s luggage heritage, whilst hinting at real utility: bags for short haul flights, roller trunks for backstage dressing rooms.

When Nigo joined Pharrell for the final bow, the moment emphasised what the show had proven. SS26 marked the first time Nigo had collaborated on a Louis Vuitton collection since Pharrell's appointment as creative director in 2023. The pieces will retail from March 2026, with the lobster bag expected to launch at £3,200.
