Inside Ama’s Intimate AMA Album Listening Session

Last night, SALT Salon London welcomed the incredibly talented Ama for an intimate  listening session celebrating her self-titled sophomore album, AMA, which officially  dropped today, June 19.

Set within SALT Salon's sleek, minimalist listening room, guests were immersed in an  environment designed for sound. Featuring sculptural cream-toned furnishings,  metallic interiors, and a statement high-fidelity speaker system, the space offered an  intimate setting that placed the music at the centre of the experience. Guests were also  treated to refreshments courtesy of Mirichi throughout the evening.

The 13-track project takes listeners on a journey through a range of moods and tempos,  seamlessly blending club-ready anthems such as 'Holding Back' with deeply personal  and reflective moments like 'Creatures'. When asked what inspired the album's  overarching theme, Ama shared that the project reflects a more direct and personal side  of herself, drawing heavily from her own life experiences. She explained that previous  projects felt as though she was hiding behind the production and, after hearing AMA, it's  clear that couldn't be further from where she is today.

Showcasing both growth and vulnerability, tracks such as 'I'll Do It All Again', 'RIP', and  'Life's Better' strike a chord with listeners who can relate. The project highlights Ama's  creativity not only as an artist but also as a songwriter, delivering some of her most  honest, introspective, and compelling work to date.

Following the playback, Ama took to the floor for a candid Q&A with guests. When  technical sound issues briefly interrupted proceedings, her humour, confidence, and  natural charisma quickly put the room at ease. She also reloaded 'Aura', a track she  described as a favourite among friends and those fortunate enough to have heard it  ahead of its release. Throughout the evening, Ama could be seen dancing and singing  along to her music, a genuine reflection of both her pride in the project and her  connection to the songs.

Afterwards, she stayed behind to speak with guests and pose for photographs, bringing  the evening to a warm close. Guests were also treated to a celebratory cake, presented  by her sister, Mahalia, in honour of the album's release.

AMA is out now on all streaming services.
