GR1FN Releasing New Music With Cinematic Album, ‘Chasing II’

New York City and Hamptons-based DJ and producer GR1FN invites listeners on an atmospheric journey of self-reflection with the release of his sophomore album, “Chasing II,” out today. The 14-track, 45-minute project serves as a compelling sequel to his 2024 debut, “Chasing,” deepening the artist’s exploration of sound, heritage, and personal growth.

Known for his videos, black and white aesthetic and working with clients like the NBA, Heineken, and Vogue as Bryan Griffin, GR1FN has carved out a unique space in the electronic music scene. “Chasing II” masterfully blends classic house, Afro house, and EDM while paying homage to legends like Deadmau5, Avicii, and Benny Benassi. The album distinguishes itself with a cinematic, film-score edge, creating an emo-esque EDM that guides listeners through a labyrinth of introspection.

“‘Chasing II’ proves that the story is not finished,” Griffin explains. “We’re still chasing that goal that’s still out of reach, which is how I feel.”

The album is a rich tapestry of influences, weaving together themes of Griffin’s Irish and Scottish cultural heritage with Celtic and African musicalogy. This global soundscape is further enhanced by collaborations with artists in Zimbabwe and the innovative use of an AI-generated vocalist, pushing the boundaries of electronic music production.

One standout moment of ingenuity comes on the track “Away Away.” Griffin reveals, “It’s actually a mashup of two of my own tracks, which I don’t think I’ve seen anybody do. You mash up two of your own songs.”

Griffin’s return to music production during the 2020 lockdown, starting simply with the piano, has blossomed into a formidable career. He has held residencies at iconic jet-set venues from The Surf Lodge in Montauk to DOM Club in Manhattan and has performed in destinations like Miami and Lake Como, Italy. This new album reflects that matured artistic vision.

Intended for reflective seasons like fall and winter, “Chasing II” delves into profound themes of self-fulfillment and peace. “Aren’t we all just grown-up versions of our child selves, I think, with the same often unresolved things?” Griffin muses. He sees the album as part of a larger mission. “I think I can make a huge impact in the world, way bigger than one media forum or another.”

The project is designed to be a cohesive, immersive experience. “It’s a full scale, 44-minute journey, which I think I’m most proud of,” he says. “It brings balance to the force, you know. Which, I don’t know, I’m proud of this album.”

Fans will have a chance to experience GR1FN’s evolving sound live at the Formula 1 Heineken Grand Prix in Las Vegas on November 22. An international tour is also slated for 2026.

Ultimately, Griffin hopes the album connects with listeners on a personal level. “I want people to interpret it however they interpret it,” he states, leaving the door open for a journey that is unique to each listener.

“Chasing II” by GR1FN is now available on all major streaming platforms.
