Grime veteran and three-time MOBO nominated lyricist Manga Saint Hilare is truly the gift that keeps on giving and his recent 16-track album ‘Everything is Under Control’ is truly a testament to that, with 20 years in the game Manga’s sound is still as fresh and innovative as ever, bouncing between genres and intricate storytelling, with each track revealing another layer into the timeless musician’s mind. This album has the potential to be Manga’s best body of work yet.
‘Everything is Under Control’ is single-handedly produced by the talented MoreNight and features some of the scene's biggest names including JME, Frisco, and P Money, alongside a plethora of well-crafted rising artists including KS, Queenie, Eliza Legzdina and more. Exhibiting growth and self-reflection ‘Everything is Under Control’ touches on topics such as mental health on ‘It’s OK to Open Up’ ft Murkage Dave and ‘Get Yourself Together’, ‘Don’t Worry’ highlights fatherhood, a vibrant nod to Amapiano on ‘U Be U’ ft Eliza Legzdina and Manga pays homage to the beloved genre of Jungle on ‘They’.
A storyteller, creative and father whose career has gone from strength to strength, what more can Manga do? Kicking off the year with such a wholesome project it’ll be interesting to see what his next move is, but for now, you can catch him on live on stage, as earlier this month Manga began his ‘Under Control’ tour.
