London rapper and drill superstar Digga D has teamed up with Detroit rapper Babyface Ray on brand new track ‘Goofies’.
Featuring a more trap-inspired instrumental compared to the majority of music Digga D has worked on, ‘Goofies’ is centred around a bubbly synth loop, sat atop of classic trap 808s and a simple beat. The simplicity of the instrumental leaves plenty of room for the artists to flow, and the contrast of Digga and Babyface’s accent make for a refreshing listen. Digga comes in with a smooth and reserved flow, with Babyface bring ounces of charisma and swagger with his verses.
Having recently released his album FACE and making himself known with a stellar feature on Future’s LP I NEVER LIKED YOU, collaborations like this one are for sure going to push Babyface Ray into more international soundwaves.
‘Goofies’ is a cut that seems to tease at the future of hip-hop, with more trans-Atlantic collaborations being likely. Instead of the age-old US vs UK drill debate, these artists are ignoring that and have teamed up to simply make a great track.
