Deftones Release New Single, Announce New Album and UK/EU Tour

GRAMMY® Award winning and multi-platinum Sacramento band Deftones announced their tenth studio album private music as well as releasing the first single 'my mind is a mountain' after some teasing. Rumours began to circulate online after the band's sold-out show at Crystal Palace, London as the stage showcased an enigmatic display of the album title and roman numerals leading to the date of the single release. They will also be doing a tour in the UK and EU early 2026 with a show in London at the O2 Arena.

Premiering 'my mind is a mountain' exclusively on Apple Music as Zane Lowe's "World Record", Lowe also sat down with members Chino Moreno, Stephen Carpenter, Abe Cunningham, and Frank Delgado where the band spoke about the conception of the new album, old memories and what might be coming next. Working with Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan producer Nick Raskulinecz, private music is looking to be yet another creative display of progressive ideas whilst cherry picking some of the most career-defining sonics from their catalogue to bleed through into this new era. Whilst 'my mind is a mountain' is an indication that Deftones have no signs of slowing down and are simply just doing what they love, sludging guitars and heavy drums encapsulate the track, which almost feels like an educational moment to new ears, as the band are fully aware that there is a whole younger generation now in their audiences, as mentioned by Chino to Zane Lowe.

From having formed in the late 80s California, Deftones are the definition of evolution and originality. With their first album Adrenaline achieving success as a brand new sound coming out of Sacramento, their 2000's album White Pony was branded one of their most career-defining album sonically and experimentally, earning them a GRAMMY® award and their follow up Diamond Eyes achieving platinum status.
