Daily Paper’s New Spring/Summer 2022 Collection Champions The Origins Of Hip Hop Culture

The renowned streetwear brand is back once more with a new collection that pays homage to Hip Hop and its direct influences on culture. The inspiration behind the collection reflects styles from the OG eras of the 70s, 80s, and 90s, transporting us back to a time of denim dungarees and bucket hats.

Speaking on their new collection, Abderrahmane Trabsini (Co-founder and Design Director) said, “The influence of Hip Hop and its community had a significant impact on how Daily Paper came to life. First through telling stories around street culture on our blog which later evolved to become the fashion brand we are today”.

The design goals of mixing nostalgia with a contemporary spin are referenced all through the collection. From bold patterns to luxurious tracksuits, the theme of the collection is evidently seen across each individual item, creating a unified look of power and style.

The collection also features the Pan-African flag colours, red, black, and green, in their redesigned bandana print. The new spin brings forward their message of uplifting and representing the African Diaspora through modern designs that champion their roots.

Aside from their traditional silhouettes, the new collection experiments with new designs such as the African cowrie shell design found in their pinstripe suiting as well as new colourways across their seasoned favourites. Chocolate brown, soft beige, mint green, and bright red are just some of the colours spotted across the collection.

In line with the theme of Hip Hop, the accessories in the collection champion the unique and forward-thinking designs of the era through their use of graffiti print and dark blue denim. Featuring cool caps, bucket hats and well designed bags, there is bound to be an accessory for everybody.

Whether it is tailored pinstripe suits or old-school bomber jackets, the new collection has something for everyone feeling nostalgic about an era of significant culture.

The first drop of this collection will be available online at dailypaperclothing.com and in-store in Amsterdam, London, and New York from January 14, 2022.
