Cloud X Festival Brought Sun, Good Vibes and An Impressive Line Up to Beckenham Park [Review]

Gracing the scenic Beckenham Park for the first time ever, Cloud X Festival truly delivered when it came to showcasing the talent the UK scene has to offer. With sunshine, good vibes, and live music, Cloud X really was the place to be, the crowd was real friendly and had artists that did nothing but impress.

After its sold-out debut in 2021, Cloud X festival has gone from strength to strength over the last few years, last weekend saw another seamlessly curated event with an impressively eclectic lineup, highlighting genres like R’n’B, Soul, Garage, and Afrobeats throughout the day.

Stepping into Beckenham Park was dreamlike, with something for everyone in every corner. To kick things off the Notion stage was beaming with soulful artists from the very beginning including Jaz Karis who performed the tear-jerking ‘Petty Lover’, Kwaku Asante who sang his addictive single ‘Thinking Of You’ and Col3trane who performed his 2019 hit The Fruits (Ft Raye). Meron T, Berwyn, and Common Goldfish were among the other artists who graced the stage.

Turning up the volume and the tempo, it was straight to Selectors Paradise, which was back-to-back vibes as it brought the scene's biggest DJs to the centre stage including Capital FM’s Kamilla Rose, funky house injectors Crazy Cousinz and renowned DJ/Producer Juls who closed off his set with 2021 sizzler ‘Wicked’ featuring Sam Wise, Kadiata and Knucks.

It really was an extreme sport trying to see all of the best artists at the same time, but we made it work, the Cloud X World main stage had an impressive lineup from start to finish, and it was also refreshing to see a variety of female musicians across the stages including Elli Ingram, Etta Bond, resident Cloud X DJ Jojo, and Manchester hit maker Pip Millet, who performed the sweet sounding ‘Love Things You Do’. The main stage also saw Samm Henshaw perform some crowd favourites and Cloud X family Santino Le Saint graced the stage, along with R’n’B pioneer DJ Ace who played nothing but old-school classics in between sets, to close the night as the sun went down was French-Arabic musician Saint Levant who showcased his impressive duality as an artist. MOBO Unsung and Jubel Apres Arena stages also had stand-out moments with the likes of Infamousiask, Victoria Jane, Saffiyah, and selector Rico Mars amongst the artists who graced the stages.

From underground parties in South London to earning the title of ‘the capital’s best boutique festival’, childhood friends turned founders of Cloud X Ben Cross and Dabieh who have made a staple name for themselves, it was a lovely day at Cloud X Festival, bring on next year!!
