Champion Introduces Class of 2026 with Future Memories

Champion looks to a new generation with a nostalgic take on collegiate style, identity and self-expression.

Champion is stepping into a new chapter with Class of 2026, a new brand storytelling platform that revisits the world of collegiate style through a contemporary lens. Launching with Future Memories on 24 September, the campaign draws on the familiar world of the high-school film to explore identity, self-discovery and the balance between fitting in and standing out.

The concept brings together different generations and cultural influences on one fictional campus, Champion High, where the Class of 2026 comes together for picture day. Different cliques, ambitions and rivalries compete for the centre spot, questioning whether being a champion is about recognition or simply staying true to yourself.

Future Memories

The first chapter focuses on the students creating their own scene. Music kids, artists and skaters form the alternative side of Champion High, connected through what they create, listen to and wear.

Inspired by the rebellious energy of 90s teen cinema, Future Memories combines classic picture-day imagery with a distinctly contemporary perspective. Relaxed silhouettes, individual layering and worn-in textures shape the collection, while music, art and skate culture influence the styling.

Champion’s own archive becomes the foundation for the wardrobe. Drawing from physical archives in Italy alongside second-hand references from the late 1990s and early 2000s, familiar Champion pieces are reworked through proportion, texture, colour and shape.

Fuller sweats and fleece introduce volume, while washed jerseys and textured knitwear bring a worn-in quality to the collection. Grounded neutrals and earthy tones are punctuated with green and pastel yellow, reinforcing the nostalgic yet updated feel.

With Future Memories, Champion is less interested in recreating its past than handing its archive to a new generation to reinterpret. It is a continuation of the brand’s conversation between heritage and the people wearing it now.
