Central Cee Returns With the Song of the Summer 'GUILT TRIPPIN'

Central Cee, Spotify’s 2024 most-streamed artiste in the UK, released a single ‘GUILT TRIPPIN’ alongside its visuals mid-June 2025, five months after releasing his debut album in January 2025. On this rap-dance tune, he features female American rapper Sexyy Red. This came about two weeks after Central Cee completed the US/Canada leg of the World Tour for his debut album, and two months after he had Sexyy Red perform at London’s O2 Arena for the European leg of the same Tour.

The genre-bending track begins its UK drill beat, nodding to Amapiano, with the sampling of all-time beloved ‘Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill)’ by Wyclef Jean, Akon, and Lil Wayne. The lyrics give a deeper layer to the song, spearheaded by the London rapper showing romantic guilt and using emotional manipulation to his advantage, while his St. Louis counterpart comes in the second verse to reject emotional games and demand commitment. This outstanding collaboration transitions finely between Central Cee’s introspective style and Sexyy Red’s carefree approach.

Shot in Miami—on a yacht during the day and in a nightclub at night, the music video draws away from the lyrical concept and tilts more towards the Amapiano-laced sonic style. It features the duo surrounded by ladies wearing bikinis and Sexyy Red dances alongside the surrounding ladies while Central Cee throws money in the air. The visuals denote the vibe generated from the song when it is played at a summer party.

Kicking off the year with his debut album CAN’T RUSH GREATNESS, commonly referred to as CRG, the much-anticipated project went on to top charts in numerous countries across continents and break records. Central Cee became the first British rapper in over a year to have a Number 1 album on the UK Official Albums Chart. He’s also the first UK rapper to achieve #1 album in Germany. Furthermore, the album has the third-highest first-week streams from a British rapper of all time and the biggest streaming day of all time for a UK rapper on Spotify.

With guest appearances from brilliant artistes like Skepta, 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Young Miko, Lil Durk, and his frequent collaborator Dave, the chart-topping album blended genres and reflected Central Cee’s evolution as an artiste. Needless to say, the record-breaking CRG album did exceedingly well for a debut album.
