Boj Drops Another Double Single Ahead of Upcoming Album 'Duplicity'

While we await his much-anticipated sixth studio album Duplicity, slated to drop on the 5th of December, British-Nigerian Musician Boj extends his brilliant catalogue of collaborations once again with the unveiling of two brand new singles, 'Contraband' and 'Diamonds'.

Featuring iconic Nigerian rapper, Olamide, on one track and rising Nigerian sensation, Mavo, on the other track, the two singles highlight a space where the duality of good and bad collides—the core theme of the approaching album.

Produced by Blaise Beats, ‘Contraband’ is an instant club mover, with Olamide bringing his effortless flow on the first verse and the hook. Themed on appreciating a lady’s attractive physique, Boj grabs the mic from his counterpart in the second verse.

Olamide’s appearance on Duplicity takes Alté lovers down a memory lane, trailing their first work together on Boj’s 2017 album, Magic.

‘Diamonds’, produced by Genio, who also handles the bulk of the sonic landscape on Duplicity, refers to “what’s on his neck”. Accompanied by a music video shot in Lagos, Mavo flaunts his catchy wave, going verse for verse with his colleague.

This double single sets another tease into the December-bound body of work. The first peep into Duplicity being the initial culturally-rich double single dropped late last month, featuring Nigerian rap collective Show Dem Camp, Ghanaian artiste Joey B, and French-Gabonese singer Anaïs Cardot.

With a preview of these four songs off the 13-track album, expectations are that Duplicity will be multifaceted in its approach and mouthwatering with its features.

Underlining Boj’s signature as an Alté trailblazer, Duplicity basks in the limelight of the maverick electronica-meets-afrobeats production of Genio. With additional inputs from the electrifying production of Spax, Blaise Beats, and Studio Magic, the album pivots on a balance between light and dark, good and bad, and the various sides of Boj.

The festive season will be enunciated with the release of Duplicity in the first week of the last month. December 5, save the date!
