Paige Bae Surrenders To Merely Being A Passenger In The Enthralling And Darkly-Tinged ‘Auto Pilot’

Slow and measured with an emotional depth there is something just simply bewitching about Paige Bea. Enveloped in an air of pessimistic, her voice is smoky as the London-based songstress resigns herself to the heaviness of love. Her voice rolls over the beat with unprecedented smoothness.

The Emotive keys combined with the experimental avant-garde production play perfectly into the idea of the unpredictability of being in love. The unstableness, and sometimes lack of control you feel because you are too close to the situation. She croons "Cruising down love’s slipstream In the front seat at the top speed".

Paige’s perception is compromised, but In moments Bae acknowledges her dissatisfaction and lack of power regarding the situation with interjections and her awareness that her decisions are hurting the people closest to her.

The production, lyrical themes and aesthetics surrounding 'Goodbye, Then!' are a slow sharpening of my sense of self," Paige explains.

Speaking about the track and her upcoming project Paige says “it starts dark, murky and jagged and eventually reaches a place of clarity and peace. The maximalist approach to the EP is a significant contrast to how small I was made to feel - and that was important. These songs are about making myself the main character again and I want this EP to make those who listen feel empowered, sexy and resolute in stories of their own heartbreak too." The accompanying visuals for the EP were created alongside filmmaker/photographer Ben Cole and are heavily inspired by iconic horror films and thrillers such as The Love Witch, The Invisible Man and Fatal Attraction after watching them during the lockdown.

Originally trained as an opera singer, Paige released her debut EP 'Burnout' in 2019 and plans to follow it up with 'Goodbye, Then!' which will be self-released on 25th November.

She is also scheduled to perform at her very own headline show in London at The Lexington on the 31st of January 2023.
