New Wave’s Festival Picks for Summer 2025

As we get settled into 2025, there's only one question on our minds... what festival are we going to this summer? With many different festivals announcing their lineups, whether that just be a headliner or a full list, the UK and EU are set to deliver a multitude of experiences just for us. How lucky we are!

From music and arts to food and heritage, these festivals listed below provide a chance to dive into diverse traditions and modern trends that characterise these areas as we look towards expanding our musical taste. Below is New Wave's list of unique, amazing and some lesser known festivals that highlight the best of what 2025 has in store so that we can all try something new.


Primavera Sound Barcelona

Still going strong more for more than 20 years and crowned as one of the biggest festivals in Europe, Primavera Sound continues to smash it out the park with their exciting lineups and impressive experience. Taking place over a long weekend in June, Primavera is already sold out for 2025 with all female headliners Chappel Roan, Charli xcx and Sabrina Carpenter set to grace the main stage after each of them having a phenomenal 2024. Parklife

If you’ve never head of Parklife, you’ve probably been living under a rock. With a exceptional lineups over the years, Parklife has hosted some of the biggest names in music year upon year. Celebrating their 15th year by merging hip-hop, R&B with alternative and electronic, there will be something for everyone in one of the coolest cities in the UK. With the full lineup just announced for this year, expect to see 50 Cent, Charli XCX and Jorja Smith as headliners with a slew of acts such as Lola Young, Overmono, Flo, Interplanetary Criminal and many more. Also new for 2025, there will be a brand new stage, Matinée, featuring a 360° DJ booth, as well as a more central location for VIP & Backstage areas which will be the heart of the park. The Jazz Cafe Festival

After their successful first ever festival in 2024, The Jazz Cafe Festival will be returning to Burgess Park for a second time to showcase the best sounds in Jazz, Hip-Hop and R&B. With Masego announced first as the headliner, JCF also announced huge act Westside Gunn to join, marking this as his first ever UK show. With 2024 bringing us some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop and R&B such as The Alchemist, Earl Sweatshirt, Ojerime and Roc Marciano to name a few, we can't wait to see who else gets announced later this year.

All Points East

Separating their festival into three days, All Points East is known for appealing to the masses with their varied festival days, ensuring everyone can attend at least one day and see their favourite artists. With the three days spread consecutively in August, expect to see genres that range from electronic, hip-hop and R&B to Indie and rock. Headliners include Barry Can’t Swim, Confidence Man, Doechii, Tyla, The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club to name a few. 22/23/24 August, Victoria Park, London, UK


LIDO

Much like All Points East, LIDO festival also spreads their festival days over a period of time. Blending a selection of genres that range from electronic, R&B, indie and pop, Victoria Park will buzz once again with a selection of artists that are ready to get us dancing, moshing and everything in between. Latitude

Taking place in Henham Park, Suffolk, Latitude is a long-running, family-friendly festival in a quieter part of the UK. Ramping up the activities days jam-packed with comedy, theatre, dance, poetry, cabaret and mindfulness, Latitude is great for enjoying the sunshine without too much pressure. Lost Village

Lost Village has announced its line-up for 2025, returning to the Lincolnshire forest for a unique cinematic four-day experience across the August Bank Holiday weekend (21-24 August). Known for its surreal and labyrinthian landscape, Lost Village creates an immersive experience where stages take shape around junkyards, aeroplanes airplanes and abandoned buildings. The programming brings together some of the world’s best electronic music, live bands, exceptional dining experiences and a curated line-up of comedy and conversation, continuing to prove Lost Village as one of the Summer season’s most unique festival experiences.

Mad Cool

Newer Spanish festival Mad Cool has had a great run and continues to shine with their huge acts taking stage each year. With its first year all about trying to cover and unite different elements such as artistic expression, fashion and food, this year, with Olivia Rodrigo headlining, Mad Cool will also be hosting Kings Of Leon, Gracie Abrams, Salute, Artemas, Justice and more. Field Day

Ravers and club-goers are lucky this year as Field Day once again showcases an array of dazzling acts for 2025. Championing DJs and electronic artists, Field Day has found its identity over the years and gives us a full day of dancing, jumping and jiving with no rest. Headlined by Peggy Gou, expect to see other acts such as 4am Kru, Girls Don’t Sync, Jungle, Mall Grab and more to scratch that party itch. TRNSMT

TRNSMT festival could be classed as Scotland’s answer to Reading & Leeds with their focus on bands and alternative acts for the majority.  Replacing T In The Park in 2017, TRNSMT has hosted huge acts in the past ranging from Arctic Monkeys, Stormzy, Liam Gallagher and more plus a female-only stage to encourage more female musicians to play at festivals. This year, we can expect to see 50 Cent, Wet Leg, Inhaler, Jake Bugg, BIIG PIIG and Snow Patrol with many more still to be announced until the festival date. OPEN’ER

Previously named Open Air before changing to OPEN’ER shortly after, this underdog Polish festival has continuously had huge acts grace the stage and never failed to give festival-goers a good time. Bringing forth great acts such as Massive Attack, Linkin Park, FKA Twigs, RAYE and more, OPEN’ER looks set to become one of the most popular festivals in Europe if it continues its outstanding lineup run. Rock En Seine

French rock music festival Rock En Seine has been a longstanding event (since 2003) that is slowly creeping into the forefront. It’s held in inside the garden designed by André Le Nôtre, who was Louis XIV’s gardener, making it a beautiful landscape. With its affordable day and full passes, the festival will be welcoming Chappell Roan, London Grammar, Suki Waterhouse and Luvcat with all other artists to be announced very soon. Roskilde

Danish festival Roskilde has been running since 1971 and is one of the largest festivals in Europe and inspired by Woodstock and would have folk, jazz, rock and pop genres all playing on a single stage. With the festival moving more into the mainstream, this year will have Olivia Rodrigo headlining as well as Stormzy, Deftones, A.G Cook, Thee Sacred Souls and I.Jordan joining. Sziget

Sziget, held in Budapest began in 1993 and has steadily grown into a very popular festival that’s sort of like Europe’s alternative to Burning Man festival. Originally starting out as a rock festival, Sziget welcomes all artists to touch down in Hungary with a steady mix of genres. This year, Sziget will be showcasing artists such as Nelly Furtado, Eliza Rose, Justice, Chappell Roan and Charli xcx with many more still to be announced. Reggae Land

After a record-breaking edition in 2024, Reggae Land is set to return to Milton Keynes for a fifth edition. Providing sounds of jungle, reggae, DnB, dancehall and dub, for this weekend it is transformed into a Caribbean wonderland with a selection of authentic Caribbean food of over 50 food vendors, a reggae flea market, reggae museum, Rum Shack and Caribbean cocktail bars that all cater to one of the most diverse crowds you will see at any UK festival.
