Let's All Chant...Botter Paris

Updated: May 1, 2022

@botter_paris the brand exploring a newfound elegance.

Lisi Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter, the duo that is currently behind the eclectic and vibrant Caribbean couture seen on the runway. A partnership emanating from Curaçao and Belgium… the diverse use of musical, culinary and artistic influence has given rise to an invigorated disco aesthetic. A kaleidoscopic approach to inclusive menswear, and a recipient of the Dries Van Noten award, the brand has been amassing slow but steady steam. With a Paris Fashion Week debut in 2019, this emerging brand aims to reinterpret expressive menswear through an innately tropical lens. A Prince of Chinatown, a charismatic urban dweller..the fall 22 show featured twenty-seven uniquely individual menswear looks each with its own narrative, that breathed a different note into the rhythm of the collection. Elegantly swathed tailoring was contrasted with Cajun seasoning as a double cerulean garter sash and an ombré denim jacket aptly exemplified. “Art not war” was the unmistakable slogan, and a symphonic color palette was quick to note on the brands open-mind. A neon taped suit, with fluorescent loafers, and an argyle polo in pineapple and kiwi transcribed the falling sequins onto flesh, detailing the maximalist aura that the brand embodies. Transforming everyday fabrics into decadent iconography and reimagining a style is perhaps a charming brand trademark. Botter Paris has had select collections available at Dover Street Market, and an artfully curated spring collection is currently in the works.
