IN DUST: The Latest Icon From MCQ and Lancey Foux

MCQ returns with its latest collaborative venture, IN DUST, featuring London-based musician and rapper Lancey Foux.

The Alexander McQueen offshoot label, launched in September 2020, has teamed up with the artist to produce a series of one-off custom garments for Lancey’s Autumn 2021 UK tour.

Lancey Foux is a multidimensional musical artist, with stylistic influences ranging from trap, hiphop and punk. His long-standing relationship with fashion, and its intrinsic link with the music industry, make evident the label’s choice to collaborate with the rising artist.

The series of workwear-inspired garments - which will not be made available for purchase - were designed to be versatile and modular, with zip features and removable sleeves adding further dimension to the leather pieces.

This collaboration comes as another exciting venture for the brand, which describes itself as “a new label for a new decade”. Choosing not to operate within the traditional hierarchies of fashion houses MCQ instead opts to work within a collective creative framework, with each collection, or “icon”, being designed by a new roster of creatives. Working with individuals from a wide range of disciplines, MCQ’s ethos is to grant each collaborator maximum creative freedom. For IN DUST, Lancey Foux and MCQ take inspiration from updated British heritage, an ode to the label’s origins as well as the artist’s own. Lancey wore his custom pieces for the sold-out London dates of his tour, as well as for the IN DUST launch event in Manchester.
