Flowerovlove boldy declines the offer of ‘new friends’ with a spring in her step!

Joyce Cissé, professionally known as Flowerovlove is one of the most exciting talents emerging from the UK music scene right now. She captivates fans with her unique style blending Pop and Indie, paired with an unapologetic boldness rooted in an urge to stay true to herself, and now she gifts us 'New Friends'.

Flowerovlove has been lauded as one to watch by major tastemakers and publications, including BBC Radio 1, VEVO DSCVR and many more, making it only a matter of time before she truly breaks through. Her latest single is however a step closer to her achieving mainstream success.

‘New Friends’ sees Flowerovlove create a melting pot of punchy lyrics, with a defiant tone laced with the angst of a young lover navigating the dating field.

Speaking on the song, Flowerovlove says, “’new friends’ is a conversational summery pop phenomenon about the state after a breakup where the other person asks to still be friends just to keep u around new friends takes us on a journey of empowerment of knowing you want to be in love and in a lovergirl world."

The bridge and the chorus of the song sees Flowerovlove hammer her message home with the help of layered vocals underneath, giving the effect of a whole army of young women behind her that are going through the same thing.

The song is bursting with exuberance and playfulness as her voice dances through the production with a level of confidence and self-assurance. On the surface, the song might come across as a response to being rejected; but Flowerovlove manages to take ownership, that she is not willing to be played around and have her time wasted, which allows her to move on to something better with a summery spring in her step.

Everything about Flowerovlove screams ‘It Girl’ as not only she has a promising music career but has also delved into the world of fashion and previously modelled for brands such as Gucci and Maison Kitsuné to name a few.

She most recently supported US superstars Olivia Rodrigo at London BST Hyde Park as well as Halsey on a number of US dates. At just 19 years of age, Flowerovlove has accomplished so much, and it looks like she is just getting started.
