On 25 September, Ella Mai returned to London for the Do You Still Love Me? Tour, bringing her latest chapter to the Eventim Apollo. With fellow British R&B artist Nia Smith opening the night, the evening felt like more than just another tour date — it was a homecoming.

The stage immediately set the tone. Designed to mirror the artwork of Do You Still Love Me?, the production placed Mai at the centre of a world built around the album, creating a visual extension of the project rather than simply serving as a backdrop.

Opening with tracks from the new album, Mai moved through the more vulnerable side of her catalogue, showcasing how her sound and storytelling have developed since her breakthrough. Do You Still Love Me? sees her leaning further into honesty and personal reflection, and the live setting gave those songs another dimension.

But for a London crowd, the nostalgia was impossible to ignore.

When the opening notes of “10,000 Hours” played, the room shifted. That same feeling continued through “Boo’d Up” and “Trip” — songs that have become defining moments in Ella’s career and instant reminders of the era that introduced her to the world.

There was something particularly fitting about hearing those songs in London. Ella Mai may now be an internationally recognised R&B artist, but this is still home. After years away, returning to perform for a London crowd made the night feel like a full-circle moment.

From the intimacy of the newer material to the familiarity of the hits that started it all, Ella Mai’s return to London brought together different eras of her career in one room. The night also highlighted the next generation of London talent, with South London’s Nia Smith opening the show. The Do You Still Love Me? Tour ultimately felt less like looking backwards and more like acknowledging how far Mai has come — while still giving the city that watched her rise a chance to welcome her home.
