DJ Fat Tony Collaborates with Ray-Ban Meta to Bring Back the No-Phones Golden Days of Clubbing

The legendary DJ Fat Tony has partnered with Ray-Ban Meta to bring a new kind of nightlife experience to London. The event, called Club 2.0, aims to revive the golden days of clubbing and remind people what it feels like to truly connect by disconnecting. Phones have become a fixture on dancefloors everywhere, but they have also become a distraction. New research by Ray-Ban Meta shows that while 55 percent of clubbers admit to using their phones on the dancefloor, more than half agree that phones are ruining the club experience. DJ Fat Tony wants to change that.

Known for his no-phone policy that began almost eight years ago, Fat Tony is now taking it one step further. Partnering with Ray-Ban Meta, he is introducing an experimental, phone-free night powered by the brand’s latest AI smart glasses. Guests will leave their phones in their pockets and use the new Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses to capture the night hands-free.

Fat Tony says that phones have been both a blessing and a curse throughout his DJ career. While he loves the ability to document special moments, he believes that their overuse has “certainly ruined the vibe on many dancefloors.” Clubbing, he says, is meant to be about energy and connection to the music, something often lost behind a screen. The new Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses, he adds, give people the freedom to experience the night while keeping those memories alive, which he calls “the future of nightlife.”

The one-night event will take over FRAMELESS Lates in London on Saturday, November 29. One of its galleries will be transformed into an Ibiza beach sunset, a tribute to the island that has shaped generations of clubbers and remains central to DJ Fat Tony’s story. Guests will be surrounded by the glow of an endless summer evening, with deep house rhythms, immersive projections, and a curated soundtrack from Fat Tony himself. The experience celebrates the spirit of Ibiza through art, sound, and movement while allowing guests to capture it all through the new Ray-Ban Meta Gen 2 glasses that merge iconic Ray-Ban style with Meta innovation.

Richard Relton, CEO at FRAMELESS, calls the collaboration a fusion of creativity and innovation. “FRAMELESS has always pushed the boundaries of art, technology and experience,” he says. “With Ray-Ban Meta and Fat Tony, we are transforming one of our galleries into a living, breathing dancefloor where innovation and creativity come together in real time.”

Reflecting on his decades behind the decks, DJ Fat Tony says that preserving the magic of club culture has always mattered to him. What excites him most is that the technology once feared to destroy that magic might now be what keeps it alive.
