Ckay Shares Vulnerable Double Release 'MYSTERIOUS LOVE' and 'IS IT YOU?'

The Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer CKay is showcasing his versatility once again with the release of a double release 'MYSTERIOUS LOVE' and 'IS IT YOU?'.

Exploring his artistry track A ‘MYSTERIOUS LOVE’ is composed of a gentle warm soundscape with soft percussion elements , low pitched synths and melody playing flutes.

Working on both tracks with Reward Beats, CKay sings languid and unhurried on this afro-beat inspired pop ballad as he poses the rhetorical question of is this love and explores the meaning of abstract.

Whilst the more upbeat ‘IS IT YOU?’, experiments his distinct emo-Afrobeats sound whilst still playing the part of a serenading love interest.

The second track has a more Amapiano and dance ensence at its centrality. Undertones of an electric guitar rifts and string symphonies  cut throughs the electronical elements in moments to create a more textured instrumentation

The accompanying video for ‘MYSTERIOUS LOVE’ is shot through the lens of natural light and the countryside reflecting the serene feeling of the lyricism and the beat. You witness playful, but gentle interactions between Ckay and his love interest as day gradually transitions into night.

"Love Nwantiti went viral 2 years after release, and my life changed in the blink of an eye. I was travelling the world, promoting and performing my music for 2 years straight. I got to a point of physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion, so I had to take a break. But I'm back and better with my best work yet", CKay says speaking about his journey so far.

Talking about the now he shares, "I decided to release two singles to give my fans a listening experience, not just a song. After my silence, it was only right. I've encountered love on so many levels and dimensions, so most of my music is about love. This is no exception."

These releases comes after a solid  2023, which saw CKay release his album Sad Romance. The album has gone on to Reach over 380 million streams showcasing CKay’s appeal as a global artistic figure over the diaspora signifying that he is one to watch.
