BADBADNOTGOOD And Charlotte Day Wilson Collaborate Again On 'Sleeper'

Instrumental wizards BADBADNOTGOOD and Charlotte Day Wilson reunite for their new single ‘Sleeper’. Following a handful of splendid re-imaginings of the edgier collective Turnstile, BADBADNOTGOOD this time pair their impressive vocation for alt-jazz production with Day Wilson’s balmy vocals. First debuting the track during London’s All Points East festival back in August, the single brings expert minds in blended genre together, offering a somber balance of sobering and soothing. First collaborating in 2016 on their “In Your Eyes” and again on Day Wilson’s 2021 ALPHA for “I Can Only Whisper”, the ensemble and singer have a solid synergy in their alliance.

Recorded in LA’s Valentine Recording Studio which has seen sessions from The Beach Boys to Bing Crosby, this stainless collaboration hears Day Wilson’s pensive musings explore moments of reflection. Speaking on “Sleeper” and working on the project with BADBADNOTGOOD,

“Sleeper wrote itself…we were in the studio just messing around and the guys came up with the colorful instrumental while I freestyled the lyrics. The song portrays someone who chooses the path of least resistance and finds themselves in a lifeless, loveless relationship.”
